An Evans mother was arrested Monday accused of hosting a party with drugs and alcohol for her teenage daughter and her friends.

Rachel Lynn Lehnardt, 35, was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

An Augusta woman told authorities Saturday that she was recently appointed as Lehnardt’s sponsor through Alcoholics Anonymous and Lehnardt told her about a recent incident at her home, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

Lenhardt said her children were with their father when her 16-year-old daughter texted asking if she could have friends over “to party,” according to the report. She agreed and allowed her daughter and her friends to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana in her home.

The woman said Lehnardt continued to describe the incident stating she played naked Twister with the teens and had sex with an 18-year-old and her daughter’s 16-year-old boyfriend, according to the report. The woman said Lehnardt also claimed she showed photos of herself and her boyfriend having sex and other pornographic material to her daughter.

Lehnardt was released from the Columbia County Detention Center after posting a $3,200 bond, according to jailers.

Wow! Took me a couple of minutes before I could type this. What a messed up family this is! The daughter knew to go ask her troubled mother for the party because the mother would be weak and stupid enough to allow it! But damn, Mom! Drinking liquor, smoking pot, looking at porn, playing NAKED Twister, and engaging in sex with your daughter's friends?!?!? Can't help but also think about the other kids at the party. Wonder what their parents are thinking?

AA Sponsor

So her sponsor at AA turned her into the police? I'm pretty sure that's confidential info that can't be used in court.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=92654
"A man's confession to fellow Alcoholics Anonymous members to two killings was constitutionally protected and shouldn't have been used against him, a federal judge in New York ruled in overturning a 1995 manslaughter verdict.

The judge ruled, as had previous New York appellate decisions, that Alcoholics Anonymous — a self-described "spiritual" fellowship dedicated to helping members stop drinking and recover from alcoholism — engages in constitutionally protected religious activity."

Dang!

Guess my invitation got lost in the mail!
Seriously, her kids are going to grow up being totally twisted and psycho as a result of this kind of parenting.
And back four years ago she was a nice Army wife Skyping with her husband in Iraq....

I too was alarmed about this

AA sponsor reporting what was told in confidence. Bad as it was, it had the legal seal of the confessional to what she revealed.

Hope they all get help. This daughter needs it immediately if she's going to have a chance at normalcy when she's out and on her own.

Even though it may be a

Even though it may be a matter of confidentiality when AA is involved, doesn't the endangerment of a child override that confession?

It's like a psychiatrist's visit is private unless the patient becomes a danger to others. I think they are obligated to tell the authorities if a patient says s/he is going to kill someone or has killed someone?

This woman did more than one thing that was illegal, sex with an underage person, serving alcohol and allowing an illegal substance in her home used by underage persons, pornographic material of underage persons, endangering a minor.

She's done enough to go away for a long time.

This child must have already been going down the wrong path that she wanted to have such a party and was okay with her boyfriend having sex with her own mother. I feel sorry for this girl and hope there is a chance for her to straighten up and fly right. What's dad think of all this?

Riverman, it's different when there are minors involved and crimes are being committed.

Their right of protection overrules any issue of confidentiality.

This woman is trying

This woman is obviously trying hard to relive her youth...at any and all expense. She wants to be a "hot mom" instead of a "good mother." Must have been about 19 when she had her daughter so she feels she missed out on her "partying days"....... I feel for the kids and she certainly doesn't deserve to have children.

I bet she doesn't reach out

I bet she doesn't reach out to AA again. Plus, she was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and nothing else. So the AC can publish a story based on what some anonymous AA sponsor says this woman said? I will keep that in mind when I want to spew venom about somebody with no proof. But wow what a freak. What 16 year old wants to play naked twister with a parent? I guess the kind raised by this trash heap. I hope the kid gets help!

Wow !

Pretty much sums up my whole group of thoughts. I'm not so sure Mom will benefit from therapy, but the daughter definitely needs it, so that she can come to grips, and realize the this IS NOT normal behavior. Otherwise, I'm concerned @ what will possibly evolve.

Read the article

Read the article from 2011 that Diximan posted about this woman and her husband in Iraq....and note "5 children".

Her actions should make her husband awfully proud I'm sure.

Corgi I think you are reading

Corgi I think you are reading the previous as I was defending her. I wasn't. My point is she was charged with contributing to delinquency due to the alcohol. The story should say that. Everything else, while sick, isn't a crime. Just Focus on the last 3 lines of my comment while I try to get a grip.

Have sex with your 16 year

Have sex with your 16 year old daughter's boyfriend and then show your daughter the pictures? HFUIT ??? Good golly that lady needs help the alcohol is the tip of the iceberg my bet and abusing either prescription or illicit drugs too-the alcohol just helps control your buzz. I'm not going to judge her harshly she needs some help-well now the whole family needs it.

Hopefully they will

Hopefully they will investigate and find pictures or some evidence-she may be so mentally unstable she made it up telling some one in confidence for some shock value. I guess because alcohol and pot were involved the counselor decided to over ride the patient privilege of confidentiality-they were 16 or older so legally of age for consensual sex. Course if all involved change their story that there was no pot or alcohol just consensual sex they don't have a case???? All would be guilty of a pot and alcohol rap.

No Privilege/Confidentiality for talking to AA sponsor

There are only four confidentiality privileges recognized by law. What you say to an AA sponsor is NOT privileged or undiscloseable.
1. Husband/wife. What is said is confidential.
(a) Parent/child. Nope. I always thought this should exist, but it does not.
2. Attorney/client. So you can confide in your lawyer.
3. Physician/patient. You need to be candid with you doctor so you can get good treatment. Includes psychiatrists and probably psychologists consulted for treatment,
4. Priest/penitent. If you confess to an ORDAINED minister/rabbi/etc. it is confidential.
An AA sponsor is close to 3 and 4 but is NOT privileged.* So talk to one at your peril.
A few States allow a journalist to keep source's identities secret.
All of the recognized privileges have exceptions for FUTURE crimes - so don't explain that you are going to kill someone or rob a bank as the person you confide in has a duty to tell the cops to prevent it.
There is NO EXCEPTION to these privileges for child neglect/abuse.
Today's legal minute brought to you by....Dixieman. And, yes, I AM a lawyer.
----------------
*Except evidently in New York where a unique privilege for stuff said in AA seems to be privileged. Tip o' the hat to Riverman1 for finding this and mentioning it in a subsequent post.
