Bond denied for suspect in Richmond County drive-by shooting

  • Follow Crime & courts

Bond was denied Friday for one of three suspects accused of taking part in a drive-by shooting that left a man with six bullet wounds.

Raymond Wallace, 30, must await possible indictment and trial in jail, where he has been confined since his arrest several weeks ago. Wallace, Xavier Robinson, 20, and Derrick Jackson, 22, are each charged with aggravated assault and weapons charges in a July 5 drive-by shooting on Jonathan Circle.

Nathan Simpson, 28, was shot several times by two men who got out of an SUV that night with handguns and fired, said Assistant District Attorney Grant Usry.

Wallace faces additional charges of battery, trespass and third-degree cruelty to children, accused of punching his girlfriend repeatedly in front of their child, Usry said.

Such wonderful additions to South Augusta

Aren't we so happy that all the places that used to house and somewhat contain such vile and violent creeps got torn down so that they could move out and live among us as if they really were civilized human beings.

Aren't we happy?

Yes it was, Corgi, but

it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. Nothing like. Thirty years ago gangs weren't in control of so much turf in South Augusta, and there wasn't nearly so much murder.

Bond denied

I am glad he did not get Judge Fleming or Judge Overstreet at his hearing. They would have given him a small bond, and he would then have gone out and finished the job he started.
