The 53-year-old man told police he met a woman named Katie at the Holiday Inn on Gordon Highway Monday after finding her on Backpage.com, according to an incident report.

The report states the victim believes the woman took $1,200 from his wallet while she was rubbing oil on his back.

He did not realize the money was missing until he stopped at a convenience store to buy a drink.

The man said he had already paid her $350 for the massage.

Hey, bud! Want some advice?

1. Don't do this!
2. If you absolutely must do this, don't carry an extra $1,200 on you!!
3. Be prepared for the police to have a hard time keeping a straight face when you file your theft report.
4. Be prepared to read lots of snarky comments on here after your experience!
5. Thank you for visiting Augusta. Y'all come back and see us again real soon now, you hear?

Fanny Pack

Maybe he will put his cash in a fanny pack next time, and keep the fanny pack on his person at all times during the massage.

There are really stupid,

There are really stupid, stupid people in this world.

We know what kind of "massage" he got, too.

He's another one that got exactly what he deserved.

And while I don't know for sure, my opinion is that he's married- why else would he need to travel from Greenwood SC to Augusta, for a "massage"?

Unbelievable! It's amazing

Unbelievable! It's amazing to me how easily, men especially, fall for the internet scams.

I thought $50 was a lot for a massage - but then it was only a massage.

Why no description? Surely he

Why no description? Surely he got a "look" at her...Was she wearing a burka or something? Surely the report has some hair, eye, weight, height, ethnicity, something. If you know who or where this thief may be PLEASE call the RCSO, Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS, or TEXT/EMAIL your tip to TIPS@AugustaCrimeStoppers.org. Where you remain anonymous and keep your cash...

Burninator, it was a

Burninator, it was a sarcastic comment on all the dummies that think that there is nothing wrong with prostitution, that it is a "victimless crime"- which is isn't. And that man learned that lesson well.

Oh, I know what you meant

Oh, I know what you meant corgi ...

Prostitution and grand larceny are not one and the same, despite your attempt to treat them so. If prostitution is not a victimless crime, why did you need to bundle it with grand larceny to try to make your case?

Hand job

This person paid a lot of money for a slight of hand maneuver. The 500 block of Broad Street is much cheaper.

C-MOM

why did he go there?

There are normally several Craigslist advertized FULL BODY female masseurs in Martinez.

Example:

Reproductive or Recreationaly, or Professionally

How can liberals, NOW and etc. argue a female should have a right to use her body as she wishes.

Then argue using her body to feed and support herself and family is wrong?

☺ Which raises an interesting NAFTA question.
Since prostitution is LEGAL in Canada & Mexico can it be exported to Harry Reid's state of Nevada under NAFTA since it is legal in many counties there

I agree...

prostitution is a "victimless crime". Human/Sex trafficking should be the only thing LEO goes after.

Example: man meets woman walking on street. man goes back to woman house for "fun". NO CRIME....but...man meets woman walking on street, pays her, go back to man house for "fun". ILLEGAL...but... man meets woman walking on street, pays her, go back to house for "fun", films it, sells it online as porn, LEGAL.

GO figure.
