Brothers report being robbed near Wrightsboro Road

Two Augusta men reported they were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning near Wrightsboro Road.

About 3:36 a.m., deputies were called to Georgia Regents Medical Center, where one of the victims was being treated for a large gash above his right eye, according to an incident report from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The victims, who are brothers, were walking on Damascus Road toward Wrightsboro Road when they were approached by a dark blue vehicle with three black men inside. After the car stopped, one man exited the vehicle and pointed a black handgun at the victims, the report stated.

The man struck one victim above the eye, causing the gash. Both victims were told to empty their pockets before the men fled east in their vehicle on Wrightsboro Road.
