About 2:55 p.m., Aiken County sheriff’s deputies were called to the store at 132 Kerr St., where a black male brandishing a handgun had entered demanding money, Capt. Eric Abdullah said.

After gathering money, the gunman ran off and was last seen in the area of Edgefield Road. He is described as being about 6 feet tall and slender, wearing a camouflage top, dark pants and Polo boots.

The department’s bloodhound tracking team was called, but police believe the suspect might have gotten into a nearby car, Abdullah said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 648-6811.
