Jon Eric Austin Stripling, 38, of Grovetown was recently indicted for sexual misconduct with a female inmate.

Jon Eric Austin Stripling, 38, of Railroad Avenue in Grovetown, pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual assault by a person with supervisory authorities and violation of oath by a public officer at the hearing in Evans.

A Columbia County grand jury indicted Stripling on July 16 and he turned himself in to authorities July 23.

A woman who was being held in the Grovetown Department of Public Safety Detention Center accused Stripling of sexually assaulting her during a short stay at the facility in April 2013, according to the indictment. The 31-year-old woman, who was being held on drug charges, was later transferred to the Columbia County Detention Center, where she made the allegations against Stripling.

Stripling is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond.

I am going to reserve

I am going to reserve judgement on this guy. Imates are not the most honest people in the world and a high school graduate studying one night on the internet could learn enough to convince a grand jury of anything. Does anyone know why the no bond?

Of course he would plead not

Of course he would plead not guilty.

If they made him resign, he flunked the lie detector test. Because he did exactly what he was accused of.

He has no bond because there is probable cause to think that the allegations are true.

I'm probably about to sound like MyFARTHER15!! ;)

As I agree with both of you about an inmate not being the most trustworthy character!! But, I've also known numerous situations where jailers and certified law enforcement officer's (actual police officers or deputies) have committed such offenses!!

I'm not judging THIS officer and I agree, this needs to be settled in Superior Court, not the court of public opinion.

But, for the life of me, I simply can't understand why officer's (the ones already convicted) would do such offenses!! We are trained constantly and every single officer is aware than having sex with a person in custody is a FELONY, regardless of consent!! As a matter of fact, it's very similar to a minor; as a person IN CUSTODY can NOT give consent for sexual intercourse!!

But, there will always be those idiots who think with the wrong head!! Those idiots deserve whatever punishment they get!! One of them, that I served with a while back is serving a 15 year sentence!!

15 YEARS PEOPLE!! For about 15 minutes (if that long) of pleasure!! And these idiots are gambling their freedom, on the HOPE that an INMATE won't come foward with the allegations!! Are you kidding me? That's why I say these IDIOTS, deserve whatever they get, if actually guilty and convicted!!

To add a little further;

It shouldn't even be the LAW that prevents them from committing these acts!! It should be honor, decency and morals that prevent such an act!!

MF15, In the 1970's and 80's,

MF15,
In the 1970's and 80's, Hollywood put out a lot of women's prison movies. Do you think maybe he watched too many of those?

myfather, the scum LE

myfather, the scum LE officers that do this, do it because they can.

It's about abuse of power, it's about taking advantage of people, it's about a sense of entitlement. And it's about absolute stupidity.

They are a disgrace to the profession.

Remember a few years back when that guard had sex with Susan Smith?

GAD, I have no idea what he

GAD, I have no idea what he has watched!! Obviously, to much porn!!

Corgi, yes; I remember about Susan Smith and as I stated, this IS actually happening all too often!! Mostly the ones I know about or hear about, are actually jailers; who are NOT certified law enforcement officers. They are jail security, no more! But, the one I personally knew that is serving 15 years, was a deputy and most people were shocked; as they thought he was a decent guy.
