Aiken suspect nabbed in Philadelphia

An Aiken County robbery suspect is in custody after being caught by police in Philadelphia.

Marvin Barefield, 25, was identified by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office as a suspect in the May 15 armed robbery of Mini Shop, 2345 Augusta Road.

An anonymous tip to the sheriff’s office indicated Barefield could be in Philadelphia. Investigators forwarded the information to the Philadelphia Police Department which located the suspect today.

Barefield will be held until extradited to Aiken County where he faces charges of possession of a firearm during a violent crime, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

It was a family member/girlfriend that ratted him out, who else would know that he was in Philadelphia and where to find him?

I see he has the new thug hair style and I wonder if he was wearing a hoodie when he committed his crime. As for the tipster I would extend a job well done. Who cares who it was!
