Police said a burglary suspect used a broken zipper in a jail escape attempt on Tuesday.

Police said the suspect, Tony Maurice Walker Jr., 29, broke into an apartment on the 2000 block of Rosier Road and stole a television, DVD player and DVD.

He was in the interview room for questioning when police observed Walker on surveillance video making attempts to escape.

According to Richmond County Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael McDaniel, Walker removed the zipper from his pants to try to pick the lock on his leg irons. He also broke a metal bar in the interview room after repeatedly pushing and pulling on it.

Walker was booked into the Richmond County jail on charges of first degree burglary, interference with government property and escape.

No zipper

Without a zipper, this will not be an open and shut case. Hope the judge can button down a sentence.

He was just using the tool

He was just using the tool closest to his brain.

First degree burglary.....I hope the bleeding heart liberal judge actually locks him up in jail for a couple of years. That is IF it gets passed our "plea down to jaywalking" district attorney's office.

He's been in prison before,

He's been in prison before, twice, and he escaped from prison before, too.

You would think by now that he would get it that he stinks at being a criminal.

It doesn't matter if he gets caught for being a lousy thief. The judges and prosecutors won't do anything to him anyway and he knows it.
