Capt. Steve Morris said Steven Michael Drawdy, 21, lost control of his Jeep Commander after striking a speed bump while traveling too fast on Hammonds Ferry Road about 1:40 a.m.

The Jeep rolled across two lawns and hit the front of 3957 Hammonds Ferry Road.

Four passengers, including one who lived at the home that was struck, were in the vehicle. They were identified as Michael Lyons, 22, who lives at the Hammonds Ferry Road home; Everett Clinton, 23, of Martinez; Ryan Kealan, 24, of Evans; and Mary Gambill, 24, of Augusta.

All backseat passengers were ejected from the vehicle, but none had injuries that were considered life-threatening.

Morris said Drawdy fled but was returned by his mother. He was charged with driving under the influence.

4 guys and 1 girl. 5 twenty

4 guys and 1 girl. 5 twenty somethings out drunk at 2 a.m.....I venture a guess there ain't a job among them...which would explain why he ran home to moma....who had the good sense to snatch him up by the ear and drag him back. Proof positive that a bad haircut and a beard don't make you smart....or a man. I hope they charged him with leaving the scene too. Did the rest of them cry for their mommies too?

The pedophile janitor got two

The pedophile janitor got two years probation, the dragging dog killer got ten years in prison. So they could get two years probation to life imprisonment- they killed a house. I love my dog but if a choice of house or dog I'd keep my house. LOL

Dichotomy, in Augusta, it is

Dichotomy, in Augusta, it is very normal for young adults to go out drinking in the bars and nightclubs. The clubs do a booming business, especially on Friday and Saturday night, but it also happens during the week, too.

And it has nothing to do with having a job or not. Lots of young people with jobs do it. But you have to be young, to be able to go out drinking, get home at 2 am, and then get up and go to work the next day.

But the passengers should be charged with idiocy, getting into a car driven by a drunk. They were lucky they weren't killed.
