Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said police were called around 7 p.m. to Amos Court where they discovered a Hispanic man with a gunshot wound to the right thigh.

The man told deputies a black woman had demanded his wallet and phone at gunpoint. She then shot him and fled in an older model Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle was possibly driven by a Hispanic man, police said.

The victim was treated for his injuries and is in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (803) 648-6811 or Crimestoppers at (888) CRIME-SC.

Double standards!

This article has a total of zero comments... The naysayers would have made numerous sarcastic remarks if the crime happen in Richmond County..

Facts

The naysayers should criticize the Augusta Chronicle instead of blaming Richmond County.

The Augusta Chronicle chooses to report only 20% of the crime in AC and 10% of the crime in CC..

It's the AUGUSTA Chronicle,

It's the AUGUSTA Chronicle, countyman. That's why they concentrate on the crime in AUGUSTA. Try the Columbia County News-Times.

Why would the Augusta

Why would the Augusta Ironical newspaper report 100% of the city of Aiken's news . If the interest was there maybe a weekly supplement or special edition. If one want to know what's up in another area subscribe to the local paper . I don't expect all the news from Waynesboro at this site.

Double Standard!!!!

The RC Pollyannas that don't even live in AC come on here and leave negative comments...

AC is the most important county in the MSA! The population of AC has grown at a rate that is 10 times that of RC!!!!!!

The Bridgestone Expansion is the strongest economic engine the area has seen for years!!!

MEDAC is located in North Augusta with 600 new jobs!!!! That's 4 times as many jobs as Starbucks...

Facts!!

I'm happy for Aiken County, but you don't have to put down Augusta.. Aiken County is definitely not growing 10 times faster than Richmond County in 2014.. Bridgestone is a huge development, but did you forget about the recent Cyber Command or NSA..

The Medac jobs are great, but the jobs at Starbucks pay better overall.. 550 of those jobs are only moving from three locations in West Augusta to North Augusta.. I like North Augusta, but let's not act like the officials didn't give incentives and offer to build them a parking deck.. The fort discovery space didn't attract Medac, because North Augusta is so much better than downtown..

Oh, that Countyman(n) could

Oh, that Countyman(n) could recognize sarcasm when presented with it........

BTW, "The fort discovery space didn't attract Medac, because North Augusta is so much better than downtown.."

Your additional punctuation makes that sentence rather interesting coming from you.

Countyman, you keep making

Countyman, you keep making the claim that AC and CC crimes go unreported by the media; Augusta Chronicle in particular.

Can you provide examples?
