Richmond County sheriff's deputies and emergency medical workers respond to a shooting in the 2000 block of Central Avenue Monday.

Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Central Avenue about 6 p.m. and found a black man suffering from two gunshot wounds, according to Lt. Lewis Blanchard.

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Blanchard said.

The victim “got in some sort of altercation” with two black male suspects, who shot him in the abdominal region and lower leg, according to Blanchard.

The suspects were last seen fleeing in a burgundy Nissan Altima with chrome rims.

Sad!!

The same few people with their comments displaying the local bias and double standards..

The sarcastic comments were nowhere to be found on the recent shootings in Evans(CC)/Beech Island(AC), home invasion in Appling(CC), and the carjacking in North Augusta(AC)..

Pu239... Sorry to inform you, but Aiken and North Augusta have a lot more shootings than Midtown in recent history.. The only sketchy area near Midtown is off Central Avenue near Paine College and will be gentrified soon..

Chrome Rims Don't Help

I doubt saying a car has chrome rims is much of an identifier in that part of town.

Countyman, please note that this was not a post 12:00 AM shooting.

Frankly, I wish these dealers and clients had better aim and would self destruct.

WOW

countyman really had to search for this one!!

An investigation into an Appling home invasion was terminated Thursday after the victim refused to cooperate with authorities.

A married couple told deputies they were robbed by two men who held them at gunpoint in their home early Tuesday.

The couple, both 27, said they were sleeping at about 3 a.m. when two men forced open the front door of their White Oak Campground Road home. The men brandished handguns. Both were wearing gloves and one man wore a mask.

The couple said the men ordered them out of bed at gunpoint and onto the floor, where they used duct tape to tie the couple’s feet together and their hands behind their backs. The intruders asked where items of value were and stole $30,000 in cash, a Ruger .380 pistol and some marijuana.

The intruders asked where the couple kept the DVR to their home security surveillance system and stole that too. They tried to break into the man’s gun safe, but were unable to.

They asked the couple to count to 30 as they left in the man’s 2005 Nissan Altima headed south toward White Oak Road.

Deputies found the car abandoned on Greenbrier Drive off White Oak Road.

Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said Thursday that the investigation was closed because the victim refused to cooperate.

I never said that we didn't have one or two low lifes in Appling!!

Location, Location, Location

Augusta Wide Now is the Location.
But like we are always told we need to look at this in perspective to the big picture.

ACCORDING TO THE AC CRIME DATABASE
=====================
Since Jan 1st 2014 to July 16th.
58 AGGRAVATED ASSAULT-GUN using firearms.
a shooting about every 3.3 days

Since Jan 1st 2013 to July 16th
66 AGGRAVATED ASSAULT-GUN using firearms.
a shooting about every 2.9 days

So since last year AUGUSTA has had 8 less shootings in the same 197 days, according to the AC crime Database.☺

Either things are improving,or the the Federally created Ammo Shortage is seeing an un-planned for benefit.

I would like to give the RCSO and the courts credit but these types of
crimes have little to do with legal deterrence and have more to do with heat of the moment enraged emotions, Social, economics, and other related factors which they stem from.

Of course they didn't.

Of course they didn't. Taxpayers should not be forced to pay for their treatment. Darned Reagan. They need to know if they get messed up in a shoot out, they may just have to bleed out, or have insurance.

NN - Thanks for the stats on number of shootings, I was just wondering about that. I'd love to see those stats broken down by ethnicity: white on white, Asian on Asian, Hispanic on Hispanic, etc. That would sure be interesting.

KSL.... The carjacking in

KSL.... There's been numerous shootings in AC during broad daylight..

Dwb16... The local media doesn't report 90% of the crime outside Richmond County, but it doesn't mean the crimes didn't happen...

The Augusta Chronicle didn't report the carjacking in North Augusta either..

Obamacare is there for them

Obamacare is there for them to go ahead and sign up for. Or can they wait until they have been shot or knifed to sign up? How long after they are well do they have to keep up the coverage? What if they are drug dealers and don't exactly file tax returns. How do you make them pay?

Obamacare is written rotten, on purpose. Don't tell me those people who wrote those regs are that stupid. Wait, they are if they are like some on the local level, more on the state level, and definitely on the federal level per Peter Principal.

It does seem that the places

It does seem that the places you are most likely to be a victim of a crazed killer
are pkaces those killers know they will not encounter armed law abiding citizens: schools, military bases, medical facilities, businesses that forbid concealed carry. Get a clue people. Do not let these mentality ill people win.

I asked you to list the shootings in North Augusta.
Your response is lame.
Maybe you should take up the 90% with the newspaper you use for a public forum.
Since you have the scoop, I will ask you again.
Are you positive that the AC didn't report the carjacking?
List, please?
