An Augusta man is short $100 after a robber snatched the money from his hand as he paid for coffee Saturday morning.
According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, George Owens, 54, said he entered Circle K at 1739 Walton Way about 8:20 a.m. to buy his daily cup of coffee.
When he pulled out a $100 bill to pay for the brew, a man grabbed the bill and tried to flee but was caught by Owens. The man broke free after a brief struggle in which Owens tore the man’s red T-shirt off.
The black male, described as between 25 and 30, about 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds, was last seen running north on Crawford Avenue. He was in a white tank top, blue jeans and black shoes. He had low-cut hair and a goatee.
