Arrest made in Jonathan Circle shooting

 

A Keysville, Ga., man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Jonathan Circle last week that injured a man.

Xavier Lamar Robinson, 20, of East Coursey Road, is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to Richmond County jail records. He is also charged with felony possession of marijuana over a February incident.

Nathan Craig Simpson was found shot in his front yard in the 3500 block of Jonathan Circle about 2:10 a.m. July 5, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

Witnesses said several shots were fired from a black Ford Explorer that made a U-turn on Jon­a­than Circle and drove west on Apple Valley Drive after the shooting.

Deputies found bullet holes in Simpson’s mailbox and in a home in the 1600 block of Apple Valley Drive, the report said.

Simpson was hospitalized for his injuries.
