  • Follow Crime & courts

A man’s burned body was found in the backyard of a North Augusta home Friday morning.

The body, found at a home in the 800 block of Shawnee Drive, was partially decomposed and too severely burned to be identified, North Augusta Public Safety Sgt. Maurice Ransom said.

The body was sent to Newberry, S.C., for an autopsy. The time of death is unknown, Ransom said.

“We’re going to wait for the autopsy results before we confirm anything,” he said.

No arrests have been made.

New reports say that this death was a suicide. What a way to go. It reminds me of the story of the man found dead with 12 bullet wounds to his back and the cops said it was the worst suicide they'd ever seen.

May God rest his soul;

May God rest his soul; whatever the reason, prayers for all who love him.
