Wallace Lane Jr., 30, was booked into Richmond County jail Tuesday on charges of first degree arson and terroristic acts and threats.
Police were called to a mobile home in the 2300 block of Boykin Road on June 8 after the homeowner discovered Lane had set fire to the underpinning beneath his bedroom window.
Lennie Frazier told police he and Amanda Martinez, the mother of Lane’s children, had been receiving threats via text message from Lane prior to the incident.
According to an incident report, Lane sent a text that morning stating “I about killed her before and I will finish the job if I don’t get $600 by the end of the week.”
Later that morning, after receiving a text from Lane to check the house, Frazier discovered the underpinning of the mobile home had been set on fire, according to police. Lane’s three children, ages 3 to 7, were in the home at the time.
