It could also be he took too

It could also be he took too many paper clips home for personal use. Or maybe he robbed a bank......... or took the Lindbergh baby....... Was he on the grassy knoll?

Give the story a chance to come out!

My Guess

He spent too many hours away from his state patrol duties in order to meddle in city affairs.

What the heck is a lieutenant

What the heck is a lieutenant with the Georgia State Patrol doing serving on the Augusta Commission? Law enforcement should not also be involved in policy creation and contract procurement -- far too much potential for conflict of interest and abuse of authority.

promises to be interesting

I wonder if we are headed to a "Special" election given the duties and legal requirements of the ARC Commissioner office?

Law

It is not against Georgia law for a full-time state government employee to serve as a part-time elected county commissioner, but it should be.

I Wonder If Al Gray could...

Al Gray, could you do a cost benefit analysis of how much Donnie Smith may end up paying before this is all over?

Nothing to it!

Most likely some employee who doesn't like him said that he was using his State car to conduct county business, was away from his duties on county business or misused his time in some fashion doing the county's business. You head hunters are looking for another helicopter pilot does girlfriend in the helicopter and I don't think it will be as exciting as you want it to be. Hope I'm right!

We had an election, you must have missed it.

As for Smith, you tick off enough people sooner or later the "chickens come home to roost".

Just maybe

Just maybe he is the one that suggested the Dodge products for the State Patrol, got a kick back and a piece of junk to boot. All jokes aside we need more info before commenting, but the way elected officials, lowest to highest, are today I dont trust any of them.

Throw the first stone.

Sooner or later the truth will come out and all these silly accusations may not be true at all or NOT...but don't you think
you should wait till all the facts are in?????
