Child struck, injured by vehicle in Monetta, S.C.

A 2-year-old was injured by a vehicle in Monetta, S.C. on Thursday evening.

Aiken County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 100 block of Drie Circle about 9:20 p.m. after the child was hit.

The sheriff’s office has ruled the incident accidental and will not press charges, according to a news release.

Aiken County EMS took the child to Aiken Regional Medical Centers and later to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

Just because they weren't

Just because they weren't life-threatening doesn't mean that they weren't very serious injuries.

What was a two year old playing where it could be struck by a car. Where were the parents and why weren't they watching that child?
