A police chase Monday night in Thomson ended with a Grovetown man being airlifted to an Augusta hospital, according to Thomson Police Chief John Seay.

About 6:45 p.m. Monday, a Thomson police officer tried a traffic stop on a 2011 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle. The motorcycle had been stolen and was being driven by Robert Blake Purdue, 26, of 1255 Reynolds Farm Road, according to Seay.

Police said Purdue tried to elude them while traveling on Highway 221 at high speed. He lost control of the motorcycle about two miles east of the Thomson bypass and was airlifted to Georgia Regents Medical Center.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident. Purdue will be charged with theft by receiving, driving while license suspended or revoked, along with fleeing and attempting to elude police, Seay said.

CC Times, 2008- Robert Blake

CC Times, 2008-
Robert Blake Perdue, 21, and Ashton Elizabeth Schultz, 19, of Kaschwitna Court, pleaded not guilty to three counts of second-degree cruelty to children during their Columbia County arraignment hearing.

Emergency medical workers had responded to the home Dec. 16 to treat chemical burns to the face, hands and mouth of the couple's 19-day-old infant, according to a Grovetown Department of Public Safety incident report.

Hospital workers told police that the burns did not appear accidental and that someone might have intentionally fed the chemical, possibly drain or oven cleaner, to the infant, the report stated.

After a Jan. 5 arrest, Shultz was released from the Grovetown jail on a $7,600 bond, according to jail records.

Perdue was arrested Dec. 24 and is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond on a probation violation.

Idk who y'all think y'all are

Idk who y'all think y'all are to judge Blake!! No one and I mean no one if perfect!!! The best thing to be done instead of running your mouth and judging people is praying for his family and his recovery! All of y'all should be ashamed of your childish curl comments!! God doesn't like ugly and clearly you need god in your life! We love you Blake and we are all by your side waiting and praying for your recovery!

Somebody needs Jesus. You might want to introduce him to your friend.

Jesus and Misshb143

Yes there are cruel people everywhere , and when he does meet Jesus I don't believe he will be on the right hand side. That being said, maybe someone in the jail ministry will introduce him to Jesus, then if he accepts, and changes his way of life he has hope. In the mean time it is nice to have him off the streets and not endangering lives.

I am not God and I do not

I am not God and I do not know this man personally. I can say cruelty to children and auto theft are not Christian principles. You can love Blake all you want. He's gonna need money for the commissary so that will be how you can show your love. Also, you should share Jesus with him. And the judge should share a mandatory sentence with him. Amen!
