Two 14-year-olds have been arrested in connection with burglaries at three Warrenville locations last weekend.

The crime spree began Friday at the post office on 1341 Augusta Road, according to an Aiken County sheriff’s news release.

The postmaster called police after an unidentified person stole six packages and opened seven more while standing in the post office lobby.

The following day, police were called to Harrison’s Hardware, 9 Harrison Road, after a witness reported seeing a white male jump from the roof. The business owner confirmed for deputies that someone broke into the business through the roof, took a .22-caliber rifle and moved several items in the store. Bullets were found on the floor, police said.

Soon after, police were sent to Dart Discount Tobacco Store, 1788 Augusta Road, for an alarm activation. Bullets consistent with the ammunition stolen from the hardware store were recovered in the parking lot, according to the news release.

The door’s lock had been damaged but no entry was made, according to deputies.

Video footage helped police identify the teens, who were charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of attempted second-degree burglary. They were taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.

The sheriff’s office is working with the U.S. Postal Service on the burglary at the post office.

PUNKS
Unpublished

These punks are well on their way to a life of crime so treat them like the thieves they are and send them away until they're 21. Put them on probation until 30 and maybe they'll turn their lives around. If not then put them in the joint forever. I've got no patience with thieves.

Prosecute them on a federal

Prosecute them on a federal charge for the post office crime and give them a seriously long jail sentence......no parole. They are both future killers. They stole a gun....they intended to use it.
