An Augusta woman was arrested Monday for theft by deception at a local Wal-Mart.

Heather Ann Bailey, 23, was seen selecting items from Wal-Mart on Deans Bridge Road and then returning the items to Customer Service with old receipts, according to a Richmond County incident report.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m.

A complainant stated that he observed Bailey signing the receipts and collecting $89 for the fraudulent returns. The complainant then approached and detained Bailey before deputies handcuffed the 23-year-old and escorted her to the Loss Prevention Office, the report stated.

Bailey’s fraudulent returns included a whiteT-shirt, blue jean shorts, black shorts, cologne, a black belt, men’s socks, a brush, two bottles of hairspray and razors.

I am just amazed at how many

I am just amazed at how many scumbags are running loose out there. And I am absolutely flabbergasted at how many of them are females nowadays.

Bless her Heart it appears she was stealing for her man, she wanted him to look good when they are out and about.

You can bet she's gotten away with this kind of theft before. Judges going soft on this type of crime only encourages more theft.

Go to jail

let the taxpayers foot the bill for her upkeep. Kudos to the person that observed what she was doing and stopped her. I believe we all need to be more observant and vigilant, maybe we can curb some of these crimes, would be nice.
