Eryc Jordan Riddle, 28, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pinned under the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene. Riddle was wearing a seatbelt, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen.

Police said the Erycson Crane truck rolled onto its side about 7:40 a.m. after trying to turn left onto New Savannah Road from Skyview Drive. The incident is believed to have been caused by a mechanical failure, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office news release. The intersection was closed while crews removed the wreckage.

The driver of the truck had “minor injuries,” Bowen said.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Atlanta GBI Crime Lab Thursday.

Staff Writer Doug Stutsman contributed to this report.

Was Riddle wearing a seat

Was Riddle wearing a seat belt? He was trapped under an overturned truck. How did he get under the truck unless he was unbuckled?

don't start speculating

The accident just happened. It is not necessary to start posting your theories on what occurred, what he may or may not have done, etc. Please just offer sympathy.

Mechanical Failure?

Heavy vehicle, left turn, rolls onto it's right side. You think speed might have been a factor?

someone's son

Please before you post a comment try to remember that he was someone's son, grandson, nephew,or cousin. If you aren't 100% positive as to the circumstances of the accident don't get on here to speculate or say things that could potentially hurt his family members as they have enough to deal with at this time.

My condolence to the little family. My daughter-in-law just recently sold their house to the couple a month ago and we were definitely moved by the horrible accident. Our hearts go out to Mrs. Riddle at her time of need.

I was called away from my

I was called away from my first post on this thread before I could complete it and have just returned to follow up. I had also planned to offer my condolences to his family, although I do not believe I know Mr. Riddle. But I'm puzzled by the comment that followed mine by "whyme": a more appropriate comment than what? I don't see another comment other than mine. If you are referring to my comment, a more appropriate comment by you would have been: "What do you mean?" To clarify my interrupted post: I wanted to know if this is the musician, Jordan Riddle, who had an album called "In the Pines" come out in 2013? I thought if there was someone in the news business following the comments section they might take the few words I was able to post at the time I and research them, so in my rush I just left them as is, hoping someone would check it out. If the family wished to let this community know something about this young man, the information, if it is that particular Jordan Riddle, would be at hand. Anyone without an agenda that follows my comments will acknowledge I do my very best to be appropriate and considerate most of the time. As far as condolences, I generally offer them in my own name in the family's guestbooks, if I know the family. If I had not been interrupted during my post for a family matter of my own, I WOULD have offered condolences then and there. As far as it being a second tragedy for them, I have no knowledge of the first. I've since discovered, so I will add that I'm also familiar with that intersection (Skyview Drive and New Savannah Road) near where the accident occurred, there are some deep ditches on either side of the road except where the driveways of businesses are. I can see how this accident could happen and have seen some near misses there over the years. Until the road got so many potholes I used it as an alternate route if another road was blocked. I was very saddened by the loss of this young man. I've lost several people, young and old, in my personal life in recent years, too, which makes me feel this loss more deeply than some others might, that haven't had a loss like this. I hope Mrs. Riddle will not feel she is alone in her grief.

This is just an awful story,

This is just an awful story, especially since they'd just lost a child, now another. The worse nightmare for any parent-to bury your child before you go. My prayers with the family, but my understanding he followed the "Word" and that means he has a special place Christ has made just for him. That is the only solace I can find in this nightmare, because one day his family will see him again. What a day to rejoice that will be. I am praying the family has peace through this ordeal.
