At 8:40 a.m., crews responded to a fire at a Mims Road mobile home, where a body was found inside, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen.

“The body was burned extremely bad and we were unable to identify the person,” Bowen said. “We sent the body to GBI Atlanta for an autopsy scheduled for (Thursday).”

Bowen said he thinks the victim was a man.

The victim was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. by Richmond County Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose.
