COLUMBUS, Ga. — Columbus police have charged a man and a woman with stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of items from donation boxes for Goodwill and a local church mission.

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports 25-year-old Antonio Carrow of Columbus and 33-year-old Kelly Jackson of nearby Phenix City, Ala., were charged with theft by taking as well as drug charges when officers stopped them in a U-Haul van over the weekend.

Police say the suspects were stealing from charity donation boxes in the area between Wednesday and Saturday. A police report says officers found 1.5 grams of methamphetamine in the van as well as a glass pipe.
