Two Hephzibah men were arrested early Sunday and charged with firing several shots outside an Augusta night club.

Bryan DeShawn Dilworth, 21, of Woodcock Drive, and Rashaad Zotaud Dally, 24, of Farmers Bridge Road, each were charged with reckless conduct, discharging a firearm and discharging a firearm on or near a public highway, according to Richmond County jail records.

About 3:32 a.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies working an off-duty assignment at Alter Egoz Sports Bar & Grill when a patron alerted them about a fight going on inside the bar, according to an incident report.

As the deputies broke up the fight and began removing the suspects from the bar, they heard several shots coming from the parking lot.

A patron said the shooters had left in a dark-colored Cadillac, which was stopped on Gordon Highway.

Deputies found two 9mm guns in the car’s glove box and a 9mm bullet that matched a casing found in the parking lot.

Dilworth told police that he was defending himself and that the people they were fighting in the club had shot at and him and Dally first.

Alter Egoz Sports Bar & Grill

just reopened late last month.

LOOKING AT THIS WITH OPEN EYES
What we are looking at are a few THUGS and Gang bangers causing problems. The club/grill has Deputies pulling Specials and are working with RCSO to keep it in line.

Besides, if its license were to be pulled,
the few causing the problem would just relocate to the next place.

However, I would seriously recommend increasing parking lot security, which will force the problems chill out, leave the area, or be arrested.

BTW
I see they have a good food menu.

nocnoc is right. It's not the

nocnoc is right. It's not the establishment. It's the patrons. More parking lot security could potentially help. If they close the establishment, they will only find somewhere else to act a fool.

More?

Does ANYONE really think more security (or deputies) in the parking lot will actually solve this problem?

In this case the shots were fired WHILE deputies were there in the parking lot breaking up a fight. On March 19, 2014 deputies were shot AT while in the parking lot at Club 3DL breaking up a fight.

Individuals like these do not respect law enforcement and DO NOT CARE if there are deputies in the parking lot or not. More deputies mean absolutely nothing. Sad but true.

2:00am law doesn't apply?

My question would be why was this club open at 3:20am Saturday night/Sunday morning? Did the laws change allowing clubs to be open past 2:00am on Saturday night/Sunday morning?

I think we should read this

I think we should read this article by Justice Stevens and give careful consideration to it.

Sad!!!

The incident should be reported in the news, but I'm positive this wasn't the only instance of firing shots across the CSRA..

There's no way firing shots are more important compared to the two people killed in Burke and Aiken county last night.. Where's the articles on the homicides in Burke or Aiken? If the media doesn't even want to cover the crime in Burke, then how can we expect for them to cover any of the crime in Columbia?

If the majority of crime reports are going to be related to Richmond County in the media. They have to dedicated the majority of positive reporting to the county also.

1. Did the crime happen in

1. Did the crime happen in Augusta/Richmond County? Yes
2. Is the name of this Newspaper the Augusta Chronicle? Yes
3. If you want to comment on Burke County Crimes, you may want to try another newpaper
4. If you want to comment on Aiken County Crimes, you may want to comment in the Aiken Standard.
5. If you are so upset with the reporting here... why are you here?
6. Firing shoots.... if it wasn't so pathetic, it would be humorous.

Justice Steven's proposal

is horse squeeze. ANY legislation that impairs law abiding citizens in defending themselves sets them up to be victims.

As far as low lifes and gang bangers killing each other, who cares? Fewer deadbeats and sperm donors as far as I'm concerned.

I see a headline about a killing in Burke Co, a double homicide/suicide in Hart Co., a bank robbery in Graniteville, and a stabbing in Aiken Co. Last I looked too, ColCo has its own paper linked on the AC. If ColCo isn't being reported, that is a Steve Crawford issue, not AC per se.

Most of the time shots that

Most of the time shots that are fired don't make the newspaper. It is only reported when it is considered newsworthy. Let's put it this way, if you hear what sounds like gunshots in 30906 it would be wise to duck, it probably is gunshots. I've had to duck many times over the last 15 years and have heard plenty in the distance, too. I'm worried that it is becoming so common I might not react in time in the future.

How in the world did this

How in the world did this establishment reopen in the first place?
This particular location has had nothing but bad news for years.
No matter what the name is, Alter Egoz, Egoz should have been the warning sign.
