Burke County suspect attacks woman, teen with metal pipe

Douse

Police are looking for a Burke County man accused of entering a home Tuesday and beating the homeowner and her 14-year-old daughter with a metal pipe.

About 4:30 a.m., a man identified as Randolph Douse Jr. went to an acquaintance’s house in the 3100 block of Farmers Bridge Road to ask for a ride, Burke County sheriff’s Sgt. Dedric Smith said.

When the woman refused, Douse broke through the front door of the home and struck the woman and her daughter with an aluminum pipe. Police say Douse stole the woman’s purse and the keys to her car, which he tried to use to get away.

When police arrived, Douse abandoned the vehicle and was last seen running into a wooded area near Farmers Bridge Road, Smith said.

Police have obtained arrest warrants for Douse on two charges of aggravated assault and one count of burglary. He is described as black, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 180 pounds.

Anyone with information can call the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 554-2133.
