About 4:30 a.m., a man identified as Randolph Douse Jr. went to an acquaintance’s house in the 3100 block of Farmers Bridge Road to ask for a ride, Burke County sheriff’s Sgt. Dedric Smith said.

When the woman refused, Douse broke through the front door of the home and struck the woman and her daughter with an aluminum pipe. Police say Douse stole the woman’s purse and the keys to her car, which he tried to use to get away.

When police arrived, Douse abandoned the vehicle and was last seen running into a wooded area near Farmers Bridge Road, Smith said.

Police have obtained arrest warrants for Douse on two charges of aggravated assault and one count of burglary. He is described as black, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 180 pounds.

Anyone with information can call the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 554-2133.

How nice

to have a mugshot of this "person" already on file to use in this article. I wonder how many times times he has had brushes with the law and how long before we read about when he finally kills someone?

Good Observation Pops

Yes I have to agree he has seen Burke County's finest before to have a picture so readily available. What I want to know was it Waynesboro Police Department or Burke County Sheriff's department who responded and made the arrest? Farmers Bridge Road is not in the city limits as I remember. I commend whoever made the arrest for it to be done in such a timely manner.

Mug shot

8 out of 10 times, when a known person is wanted for a crime just committed, the authorities just look in the data base, type in the name, and bingo, there he is. Don't blame law enforcement. The liberal judges and crooked lawyers are the ones to blame for this. If you got the money honey, you don't do the time.

If you have not signed up to be on jury duty and/or have ducked out of it with a lame excuse, you are a part of the problem. Vote guilty early and often.

I have to agree about lawyers and lame judges are the issue

But we need to look at the law and court system also.

It should NOT be based all or nothing on a "technicality".

Example: recently a guy admitted to having sex with an underage Female 4+ times. Then him and his lawyer use the affirmative defense in USC § 2243(c)(1) stating if the jury heard the Audio recording of him made by her parents of him calling the child and setting up a meet and openly discussing how, when and where, he would be convicted.

By the rule of law, the initial Judge tossed out the evidence because it was prejudicial.

So maybe it is time we address the equally of Rights, along with Social Responsibilities, in very narrow situations.

Or let the fathers/mother beat the C___ out of some perverts and call it Social Justice. Or Shoot Burglars as they break in.

4:30 AM !!

Dude - you are supposed to be in bed counting sheep, NOT beating on a door asking for a ride !! And BTW: if they say NO, go on to the next house. Yeah, if he busted down my door, he'd be very dead. He looks like a young Fred Sandford....just sayin'...

Marinerman has it exactly right.

I almost shot a neighbor's son who came banging on my front door in the wee hours of the morning a few years back. Fortunately, he stopped banging long enough to identify himself, but boy was he ever surprised when I opened the door and he saw me standing there with a cocked shotgun.

I told him he'd be wise to call and wake us up before he ever pulled that kind of stunt again.

Accdg. to the Jail Report, a

Accdg. to the Jail Report, a fellow apparently concerned for his personal safety because a woman was acting crazy and kicking over his trash cans did a warning shot from his own property and he was arrested for reckless conduct. We need to know more about what is allowed as far as defending ourselves. Isn't there "Stand Your Ground" law in place here? If so, exactly what does that mean? I've been shot at on my own deck and the shooter wasn't arrested or even questioned. How in the world are we supposed to protect ourselves?
