About 8:40 p.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Family Dollar at 1991 Broad St., according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators learned that a black man wearing all black entered the store brandishing a black handgun and demanding money.

The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said. He was last seen fleeing northbound on Broad Street.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.

Dollar Store Bandit

Be kind of embarrassing in prison to be known as the Dollar Store Bandit.
