A Harlem woman says a young boy ran off with her puppy at an Augusta gas station Monday afternoon.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report, Eliza Fincher, 77, told police that she had listed the puppy, a black and white Bichpoo, in several papers throughout Georgia and South Carolina.

She received a call from a man named James, who told her he was a dog groomer in Charlotte, N.C. The two agreed to meet at the Pilot gas station at 2975 Gun Club Rd. about 2 p.m. on Monday.

When Fincher arrived at the gas station, a young boy met with her and began playing with the puppy. The boy told Fincher that James was in the car talking to their mother about the puppy.

The boy then picked up the dog and began walking toward the car. As he got closer, he began running and jumped into the vehicle before it took off, according to the report.

The car, described as a white midsize sedan with a North Carolina tag, was last seen driving eastbound on Riverwatch Parkway toward Interstate 20.

That's pretty low to steal

That's pretty low to steal from an elderly person but to use your kid is even more pathetic. I hope she gets her puppy back.

That's what you get

That's what you get when you are willing to sell a puppy to just anybody without a home check first. Breeders only want to make money. They don't care about the animals or what kind of situation they are selling them into.

This is what happens...

...when you have a kid who asks and asks and asks for a puppy about 1,000 times.

This is a new low. Travel to another state to steal a dog and use your kid to make the heist. Lord what has happened to our society?

This wasn't for the kid, it's

This wasn't for the kid, it's already been sold by now.

There are plenty of dogs up here in Charlotte, the Humane Society and Animal Control shelters are overflowing with dogs.
