Police were called to the 3100 block of Parrish Road about 5:15 p.m. where witnesses said Connie Woods, 33, had become increasingly violent after having an argument with another woman over a parking space at their apartment complex.

The victim told police she grabbed a baseball bat from her car for protection. Witnesses said Woods then swung at the victim and in doing so was hit in the head with the bat. She then ran into her apartment, according to an incident report.

The officer, who attempted to approach Woods at her apartment, reported she ran toward him covered in blood from a cut on her forehead and began shouting obscenities. Woods, who police said was intoxicated, swung at the deputy before falling into a wood coffee table.

Woods was transported to the hospital at her request.

According to the report, the officer did not file charges of obstruction on Woods because of her high level of intoxication, her injuries and lack of danger to the officer.

The victim also declined to prosecute.

Later, police were called to Doctor’s Hospital where Woods said she had been assaulted and robbed by several men.

Ultimate non-story...

...unless there were hidden cameras and this was really an audition for the new "Parking Space Wars" reality TV show.

wow, not arrested for public
Unpublished

wow, not arrested for public intoxication at least? if she went out of her apartment while loaded with a baseball bat to confront another individual, i would say this qualifies as public intoxication along with intent to do bodily harm. i would have liked to seen this story be about some man coming out of his apartment, drunk, with a bat, raising heck over a parking space, running at an officer, and not have some kind of charges brought against him. that would be front page news and we all know it.
but chickie-dee here gets a free pass and a trip to the doctor? once again, i feel like oprah, shaking her head and going: "wow. wow. wow"

Sobered up a little and came up with another story. LOL!

A charge of public intoxication against the drunk woman probably should have been made just to protect the victim.

Victim would not to be involved with this charge because the deputy saw it himself and he would be the prosecution witness.

Misdemeanor committed in his presence.
