Three teens have been charged in a Burke County shooting that injured five at a party Sunday and more arrests are likely.

Five people, ages 17 to 21, were treated for injuries after shots rang out around 1:45 a.m. at a repurposed automobile shop on Highway 80.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist the Burke County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.

According to a news release, police charged Tacorey Lamon Lakes and Brandell Shaquael Little, both 19, and a 16-year-old with five counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police said the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.

Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 554-2133 or the GBI at (706) 595-2575.

possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

That should get them a flat 25 years. Period. Turn those loose for slinging weed, and let these cretins occupy their spot in prison.

Civics classes

Starting in 4th grade, all civics related classes should emphasize there are heavy penalties for illegal firearms possession/use.

The Look Will Change

The look on Lakes will change, once the hand of Justice comes down on his head. Would love to see a before and after mugshot.

Those 16 and 17 year old

Those 16 and 17 year old should have been HOME, what were their parents thinking? At a party, with alcohol and guns?

corgimom, this is what the Great Society, democrats, liberals and black leaders created.

Amen ed! Heck it's likely

Amen ed! Heck it's likely there is no dad at home and mama can't control them. Mom is probably in her 30s and was out doing her own thing. I am sure lack of supervision is exactly why they were at a party like this and had guns.

If the law was followed

they would be looking at 25 to life.

But we live in a touchy-feely world since the "New" Generation college groups took control of the freedom of expression, morals and punishment.

In all likelihood we'll see these thugs again in the NEWS in less than 5 years.

BTW:
Is it me or do they look proud of what they were arrested for doing?

Seriously their Mug shots come across to me as hard core bad ___'s looking for a reason to kill, or maim someone.

I doubt if any of the three will do any hard jail time. Liberals who've invaded our legal system will have a pity party for these poor boys who deserve a second chance. As stated before we'll be reading about them in the papers again.

Getting arrested

does not faze a number of these wannabe "gangstas". Getting their faces out there in public for violent crimes just gives them street cred.

edcushman, no, the Great

edcushman, no, the Great Society, democrats, liberals, and black leaders didn't create anything, there were neglectful parents when I was a kid, too, and they were white.

I also know plenty of parents today that are loving and caring parents, of all income levels and race. I also know parents that are worthless of all income levels and race.

Your comment is racist and untrue, besides.

I know that every single person on here can tell stories about kids they knew whose parents let them run wild, and they were born long before the Great Society came about.

@corgimom

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you somewhat. The neglectful parents in our day, did not create the level of criminal that the ones in this day and time create. While you may know plenty of parents, you probably did not know the parent/parents of THESE sad excuses of members of Society. They are thugs. And the harsh reality is that the majority of them are black. Neither of these thugs were of legal age to possess a gun, and I would be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts the gun was not legally registered, or it was stolen. I'm sure both of their moms are so proud of their little 'munchkins'...
