Three of the five people shot at a Burke County party Sunday remain hospitalized.

GBI Special Agent in Charge Pat Morgan said it appears there were multiple shooters.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office asked for the assistance of the GBI after it responded to the shooting at a re-purposed automobile shop at 4960 Highway 80 W. about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. A sheriff’s office official told a reporter Sunday that 150 to 200 people were at the party.

According to a GBI news release, three of the victims – Darius Smith, 21; Rokeisha Graham, 17; and Bromekis Donnie, 18 – were transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment. Morgan was unaware of their medical conditions.

Shequan Hines, 19, was treated at Burke Medical Center and released.

Later Sunday a fifth victim, 17-year-old Brandon Harold, was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center by family members. He also was treated and released.

Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 554-2133 or the GBI at (706) 595-2575.

I really dont understand why

I really dont understand why there was not police presence at this large party. Sure this is a rural area but come on teenagers/young adults talk about parties. 150 to 200 people and no police patrol. Young adults, alcohol and guns are asking for trouble. I hope all that was injured will be ok, but this could have been avoided. SMH

Who is the adult that rented

Who is the adult that rented this place out to teenagers or did some adult take the responsibility of renting the building for them, I think the GBI should investigate the owner of the property as well as the shooter. Seems that drugs and alcohol plays a major role even in the smallest towns Gough's population is only a few folks, so why bring destruction to some one else's back door and not at your own. Obviously this party was kept under the radar why not in the city
