Four people were hospitalized early Sunday after a shooting at a party venue on Highway 80 in Burke County.
Shots rang out about 1:30 a.m. at what Burke County sheriff’s Sgt. Dedric Smith described as a repurposed automotive shop. There were about 150 to 200 people inside at the time, he said.
“At this point in time, we believe there were several people shooting,” Smith said.
The victims were taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center, Smith said. One has since been released. The sheriff’s office has not identified any victims or suspects.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Waynesboro Police Department are assisting in the investigation.
