About 5:27, Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3300 block of Milledgeville Road in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the boy had been playing with other children when he ran into the roadway. He was struck by a car traveling in the westbound lanes.
The child sustained a broken femur and an injury to the back of the head, but was responsive to instructions at the Georgia Regents Medical Center, according to the release. The injuries weren’t life-threatening.
Police say the child was found at fault for the accident, and the driver of the vehicle will not face any charges.
