According to Richmond County sheriff's investigators and the deputy coroner, Montravius Deshawn McNair, 18, of Covington, was shot several times just before midnight Thursday in the parking lot of the Kroger store at 3128 Deans Bridge Road.

Dequan Blake, 18, was charged Friday with felony murder and misdemeanor affray, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Also charged with misdemeanor affray were Elevonte J. Cooper, 19; Cordarius C. Ayers, 19; Daushun J. Ellis, 19; Jaques R. Woodard, 19, and Tydavius Z. Bradley, 19.

During the incident, Karl M. Kelly, 18, was wounded and taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the hand. Kelly will be charged with misdemeanor affray after medical treatment is completed, according to the Sheriff’s Office. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The Sheriff’s Office was searching Friday night for two suspects: Napoleon J. Moss Jr., 19, , and Aquil J. Ferrell, 18, both wanted for misdemeanor affray.

The investigation is ongoing and details were withheld because suspects were still being sought, the Sheriff’s Office said Friday night.

Justice !

I was wondering if this was gang related? What ever it was it is sad that a loss of life occurred. I hope proper justice is served.

gang life

When you get into a gang, you are asking for trouble. The only way out is in a pine box. Gang members have no respect for life.

------------------

A few questions regarding the 4 murders in ARC.

What are the statistics for these murders?

How do they break down, who is killing who ?

How many were Criminals or Underage persons in Illegal procession of a firearm?

How many happen by Police district and/or Zip code in the last 24 months?

What areas currently are the worst over the last 24 months?

NAMES

Parents why do you insist on giving your kids such ridiculous names? It's hard enough to get ahead in life without being saddled with made up names. Is it because you can't spell? Do you think such silly names make them special? Shame on you because you've shown you didn't have the maturity to have a child. It's not play time when naming a kid!

Jaques and Karl....

Now those are real names... even though they are European.

The mothers of those other guys sealed their fate on their birth certificates. Yeah, you can get into a lot of trouble even if your name is Charles (Manson) or John (Wayne Gacy).

But you don't stand a chance with a moniker like Elevonte, Cordarius, Dequan or Tydavius.

Who would even hire you? Assuming that you even break the mold and look for a job at some point?

Even James T. Kirk was smart enough to drop the Tiberius. Star Fleet would have slammed the door in his face.

Sad........When these young men attended Glenn Hills High.....It was quite obvious unless something changed this would be the predictable outcome for most if not all of this group.

I wonder if this had anything

I wonder if this had anything to do with the assault on 2800 block of Glenn Hills Drive on March 3. spotcrime.com indicates an alleged assault in front of the old cemetery which is between Glenn Hills High School and Glenn Hills Middle School.

I'm wondering how many of these young men have a father figure in their lives. How many even know who their father is?

seems familiar... Gang Activity

You know it seems like only yesterday that we were sitting around the ol water cooler at our place of employment and laughing at all the funny names in the 'Jail Report' and for whatever reason Montravius's name stuck out to me. And today lo and behold he is a victim of gangland violence. If only the tax payers could have showered him with handouts, welfare and EBT cards after he robbed the Waffle House on Gordon Highway last year: http://chronicle.augusta.com/news/crime-courts/2012-06-14/police-arrest-... Then maybe montravius could have really turned his life around. Augusta needs to fix its violent gang problem before we turn into detroit! This is the reason why I carry wherever I go in this zip code, young Dequan or Cordarius here will want to forcibly redistribute my private property like they did with Montravius's body temperature. There is a thug problem in this city. The EBT cards, obama phones, section 8 housing, rent and utility subsidies are not helping the situation, they are prolonging it.

well folks here you have it, a product of the so-called social safety net system, which by the way the liberals, democrats, and religious/community leaders tell is "is supposed to hep lift the poor and black out of povery and into the middle class" so now will will have all of their "sorry, trifling, and whorish mammies sitting in the front row at their trials of course in their best city trends outfit dabbing their eyes telling everyone "mah boy he a guut boy, he aint not shot dat boy, he was disrepekted, mah so he guud but he jess got caught up wit da ronk crowd"...the typical profile which we all know all too well, these animals were raised in single parent households, each of their sorry azz mammies have 3-4 other children by different men, they have never been married, and of course-live in gov't housing (prah-jeks for those of you to sorry enuff to werk or get an education), them and they sorry azz mammies have little or no education, little or no job skills or experience..hell why should they, when the "gub-ah-ment" pays them to spend all of there time on their backs/knees making more babies than taking care of the ones they already have...oh yeah that's right the "gub-ah-ment" is dey current baby's daddy and so they are free to breed like the welfare, leech, moocher, parasitic broodmares that they are...its time augusta (and america for that matter) 1) institute a 2-3 strike law then its life without parole and 2) get out of the government welfare business entirely-end government housing, welfare, foo stamps, and other welfare programs..if these broodmares want to have baby after baby like dogs in heat then let them find/go their sperm donor for support to take care of their litter and not the working americans
