Man charged in November shooting

A suspect in a shooting that seriously injured a man in November was booked into the Richmond County jail Tuesday.

Police said Sheldon Breon Roper, 18, has been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in the Nov. 25 case.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Cooney Circle where they found a man with three gunshot wounds to the left side of his head, neck and stomach. According to a police report, the victim was standing near the road when an unknown man approached him from behind and started shooting.
