Police said a female shoplifter told a Bath and Body Works employee that she had been previously been “popped” for shoplifting – just before she ran out with a shopping bag full of bath products Saturday.

Police were called to the Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway store about 7:30 p.m. after the unidentified woman finished a conversation with the employee and sped away in a tan Oldsmobile Cutlass with the stolen merchandise.

The employee told officers she noticed the woman filling up a shopping bag and asked her whether she intended to “buy every item in the store.” The woman replied that she had missed Valentine’s Day and had “a lot of making up to do,” according to an incident report. The shopper then added, “Don’t worry about me stealing anything because I have been popped for that before.”

Hey, I guess she did not get the message. A sheriff in Oconee county cancelled Valentine’s day this year, and it applied to every county in the governor’s disaster declaration.

Looks like.....

.....she made a "clean" getaway. If caught, her freedom may go down the drain, though.

LOL...

I don't know but... “do you intend to buy every item in the store” seems to be a pretty rude thing for a sales clerk to be saying to a customer in a retail store setting. I'm not saying it's cool to steal but the sales clerk might have brought this one upon herself. She may also be lucky a few bath items is all that's missing....lol.

I disagree. I'm sure the sales clerk said it in jest. I seriously doubt that the offender would not have shoplifted otherwise. Once a thief, always a thief!
