Police offer reward money for info in robbery, shooting

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two men wanted for an armed robbery that turned violent Feb. 7.

Police have obtained warrants for Marquese Demario Parrish, 22, and Darrell Fitzgerald Hill Jr., 23, both of Augusta, on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. Parrish also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

About 6:50 p.m. Feb. 7, deputies answered an assault call at the Richmond Villas Apartments on Windsor Spring Road, according to an incident report.

Tyrell McKie told police that he had asked a man named Keet for a ride home, but as he entered the car, three unidentified men approached him and told him to “give it up.”

The robbers took McKie’s money and one shot McKie, though the police report doesn’t say where. They then left in a black Nissan with a paper tag.

Deputies later found a .45-caliber shell at the scene. McKie was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center.

One suspect, Kevin Maurice Hanna, 23, of Hephzibah, was arrested last week on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Parrish and Hill are considered armed and dangerous, the report said. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1020 or Richmond County dispatch at (706) 821-1080.
