A Richmond County grand jury indicted two Augusta men Tuesday on charges of vehicular homicide in unrelated traffic fatalities.

Alfred C. Rouse faces charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, violation of the open container law, running a stop sign, and hit and run in the May 23 wreck on River Oak Road that led to the death of his passenger Anthony L. Bussey, 32.

Derrick L. Thompkins, 25, faces two counts of vehicular homicide and driving on a suspended license for the Nov. 1 deaths of 54-year-old Tonya D. Lane and 58-year-old Jerry Mims, who were hit and killed on White Road.

Both men should be arraigned in Richmond County Superior Court later this month.
