Aiken teens accused of posting explicit photos of special needs student

Two Aiken teens were arrested Tuesday after police say they posted photos of a South Aiken High School special needs student using the restroom to the Internet in December.

Austin Dean Thames, 17, and Jeffery Alec Forrester, 19, each face charges of disseminating obscene material in connection with the incident, according to an Aiken Department of Public Safety incident report.

Police were notified after an assistant principal was made aware of the photos. The administrator told police that she discovered the photos on Forrester’s social media account and noted that it already had 28 “likes.”

According to the report, the photos showed the 16-year-old victim with his pants down while he stood to use the restroom, and could be seen by Forrester’s 655 followers on the Web site.

Further investigation found that Thames took the photos of the victim and sent them to Forrester using Snapchat, a photo-sharing phone application. Forrester saved the photo and posted it online for his followers to see, according to the report.
