George D’Antignac, 31, told police that he had just purchased items from Family Dollar at 1713 Walton Way about 8:30 p.m. when he was approached in the 1700 block of Starnes Street by a black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt that covered his face, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report.
D’Antignac said the suspect brandished a black revolver and was joined by three more black males. D’Antignac said he recognized two in the group, including a neighbor’s 15-year-old nephew, whom he recognized by his crippled left hand.
D’Antignac said two of the group recognized him and told the others to stop, but the 15-year-old brandished a silver .22-caliber handgun. Two of the suspects stole $11 from D’Antignac’s pockets before fleeing.
Police say the 15-year-old admitted going to Family Dollar around the time of the robbery but said he was only with one other person.
Police were unable to find a handgun in the teen’s bedroom.
