Theodore Thurmond, 50, had eight years and six months left on a probation sentence he began in 2011. An earlier probation violation resulted in a two-month stay in one of the state’s detention centers.
The day he was released, Dec. 13, is when he allegedly kicked in the back door of a home and went after the woman and young man he professed Friday to care deeply about.
Judge Daniel J. Craig, who inherited Thurmond’s 2001 statutory rape case in Richmond County Superior Court, revoked Thurmond’s probation sentence.
Thurmond pleaded guilty to statutory rape on Feb. 1, 2002, for having sex with and impregnating a 15-year-old girl. He served nearly all of his 10-year prison term before beginning the probation part of his sentence.
