A 26-year-old man accused of causing a multivehicle crash on Bobby Jones Expressway has been indicted on multiple charges.

A Richmond County grand jury returned an indictment Tuesday against Chad Jones Singleton that charges him with two counts vehicular injury, two felony counts of hit and run, and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, hit and run, improper lane change, driving without headlights on, following too closely, and aggressive driving.

According to the indictment, on Nov. 30 Singleton caused a vehicle to crash, flipping several times, after ramming into another vehicle twice. Two people in the vehicle that flipped were seriously injured; one suffered a broken neck.

According to Richmond County court records, Singleton was convicted of DUI in 2010 and was charged with DUI again on Nov. 4, 2012.

In connection with the second case, Singleton was transferred to the DUI accountability court in October. That case has been put back in active prosecution status.

Singleton is currently in jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the new felony case on Jan. 17.

I guess I don't understand the system. What is a DUI accountablility court. It certainly doesn't sound like he had been held accountable for ANYTHING. Why had this case been taken OFF of the active prosecution status? For the 2nd DUI he should have been held, without bail, until he went to court and upon conviction he should have been locked up in jail for 5 or 10 years.....and the wreck on Bobby Jones would never have happened.

What in the hell are our liberal, let's make a deal, prosecutors, judges, and the UN-justice system doing? All of them should be removed from office for failure to uphold their oath. The cops catch them, the UN-justice system let's them go, and they kill and maim us.

I've been saying for years that the biggest problem in our criminal system is the lazy prosecutors and liberal judges. Cops are doing their best only to have the cases plea bargained by prosecutors and slaps on the wrist by liberal judges. Neither gives a hoot about the victims or the safety of the public. Throw all of them out at the next election and hold them accountable.
