The Thomson Police Department was called to Queensborough National Bank and Trust, 549 West Hill St., at 12:35 p.m. and discovered a man later identified as Tyrone Gibson had entered the bank and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Thomson and McDuffie County officers located the suspect’s vehicle soon after at the intersection of Thomson Bypass and Augusta Highway.

Gibson, 35, was taken into custody without incident, according to a Georgia Bureau of Investigations new release.

Gibson is being held at the McDuffie County Detention Center on a robbery charge.

The investigation has been turned over to the Toombs Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

Just goes to prove one thing:

There isn't enough money in Warrenton to make robbing a bank there worthwhile, so he had to go to Thomson.

Sad But Funny!

A man travels ten miles from one podunk town to another and hopes that nobody recognizes him. This is equivalent to Goober robbing a bank in Mr. Pilot. Sad, but funny! Even Goober would be smart enough to go to Raleigh.

Avid, it's more ironic than you explained.

We know some of the tellers at Queensborough and they told us Mr. Gibson was a regular visitor to that particular branch. Go figure. And by the way, I obviously don't know where you live but I will take a "Podunk" town over the asphalt jungle anytime.

THUG

It's getting redundant but it would seem the thugs are out in full force once again. They must be "putting in work" to buy Christmas presents.
