Employees at Circle K at 261 Furys Ferry Road said a white male wearing a black sweatshirt, black stocking cap, sunglasses and a gray T-shirt tied around his face entered the store, brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the cash register.

The man grabbed cash inside the register after an employee opened it. After asking whether there was any more, he ran off toward Prattwood Drive.

About 10 minutes before the robbery, an employee said she received a call from someone asking whether they had reached the Circle K. When the employee said, “Yes,” the caller apologized, then hung up. The employee said the voice on the phone was similar to the robber’s.

A thief with

A thief with manners. I guess he thought an apology would help to decrease his jail time if he was caught.

Huh?

Huh? So he actually gave an apology for the robbery in advance? Or did he simply call to see who would answer and apologize for the wrong number or something? If he said he was sorry that he was about to rob the store, shouldn't the clerk have called the police?

He wasn't calling to

He wasn't calling to apologize. He was just calling to see if it was a woman on duty. He probably said "I'm sorry" like he had gotten a wrong number.

I'm with dichotomy on this

I'm with dichotomy on this one. He was calling to find out who was on duty at the store. He didn't apologize for the future robbery, but to make it appear he had the wrong number. This will probably be someone who frequents the store and would recognize the clerks voice.
