CHESTER, S.C. — A Chester man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for stabbing his girlfriend and killing her unborn child.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports that 40-year-old Aris Nichols was sentenced Wednesday after pleading no contest to attempted murder and death or injury to a child in utero.

Police say 23-year-old Brittany Jordan was several months pregnant when she was stabbed several times in April 2012 in the couple’s home just west of Chester.

Their unborn son did not survive, and Jordan was hospitalized for weeks.

Nichols had been set to go on trial Monday. He said in court that he doesn’t remember anything about the stabbing.

The libs won't care about that.

It was just a mass of cells, according to their line of thinking.

My thoughts exactly bentman.

My thoughts exactly bentman. No matter if you are pro-abortion, anti-abortion, or somewhere in between; there is no way to rationally reconcile laws that recognize the unborn have legal status, and then say it is OK for the mother to have it killed.

Impossible to logically have it both ways. If it is no more than a mass of chattel tissue to do with as you wish, then the law should treat the killer of such no different than if he/she had killed the mother's dog.

Choice?

If she had just let her doctor do it she could have put into the quaint title of a choice.

Too bad Aris Nichols does not have a Doctors license. What a difference a piece of paper makes!

The difference between State laws, which are the people, and Fed law, which is government.
