A 30-year-old homeless man has been charged in the Aug. 28 shooting death of Charlie David Davis.

Curtis Michael Bonman was charged Friday with felony counts of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to jail records. He was being held without bond.

About 11 p.m. on Aug. 28, Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 2100 block of Third Avenue, where they found Davis, 31, of Augusta, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to an incident report.

Davis was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center, where he died less than an hour later.

Bonman also was being held for the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office as a suspect in the Nov. 14 kidnapping of Detrick Favors, 40, of Farmington, Ga., who was taken at gunpoint from his house.

Derrick Demetric Ingram, 36, of Haddock, a community in Jones County, and Karin Tanja King, 38, of Augusta, were arrested Thursday and have been charged with burglary, false imprisonment, kidnapping and aggravated assault in the kidnapping. Bonman is charged with similar offenses.

A fourth suspect, Justin Darquel Jackson, 24, of Augusta, was arrested the day of the kidnapping when he went to a Watkinsville shopping center to collect a ransom, Berry said. Officers were watching and captured him.

Ingram and Jackson remain in the Oconee County jail without bond, and King remains in jail with bond set at $50,000.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the kidnapping.
