Fire danger statement issued for Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a fire danger statement for Tuesday due to high wind and low humidity.

According to a statement from Pam Tucker, the director of Columbia County’s Emergency and Operations Division, northeast winds are expected to reach 10 to 15 mph, with frequent gusts up to 20 mph.

The wind, combined with humity values between 20 to 25 percent, will create unsafe burning conditions on Tuesday.
