Virginia man pleads guilty in Augusta to attempted online enticement of minor

A Virginia man arrested in Augusta after traveling to Georgia to be with a minor pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court.

John Frederick Tysarczyk Jr., 36, of Newport News, faces 10 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to attempted online enticement of a minor.

Evidence presented during the hearing revealed that Tysarczyk came to Georgia on July 25 after sexually explicit online chats and phone communications with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl but was in fact a law enforcement officer, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
