John Edward Greubel, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a Schedule IV drug.
Greubel was formerly associated with Greubel’s Mixed Martial Arts studio, off River Watch Parkway, but the current owner, his brother Mark Greubel, said John Gruebel hasn’t been associated with the business for more than six years.
John Gruebel was arrested Wednesday after Columbia County sheriff’s deputies escorted Georgia Department of Family and Children Services workers to his Martinez home on Bridgton Drive, according to sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris. Morris said he does not know why DFCS was at the home. While at the home, a narcotics investigator discovered methamphetamine and 33 Klonopin (clonazepam) pills in plain view, according to Morris.
John Greubel was being held in the Columbia County Detention Center Friday on a $15,200 bond, according to jail records.
