Georgia Regents University basketball player Devon Wright-Nelson, 21, was arrested Sunday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Joey Warren, GRU sports information director , said the arrest was the result of a fraternity party. The school expected to release a statement Wednesday, he said.

Wright-Nelson, the 2012 Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Seventh and Broad streets, and was booked into the Augusta-Richmond County jail.

His status for Saturday’s season opener versus Tusculum College is uncertain, Warren said.
