The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is offering a cash reward for information on a hit and run that killed two people Saturday.

Deputies were called to the 2200 block of White Road Saturday morning where they discovered the bodies of Jerry Mims, 58, and Tonya Lane, 54, both of Augusta, laying in the road.

Police are also looking for a gold or tan Pontiac G6 rental car that could have been connected to the accident.

Authorities have not specified the amount of the reward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1483. Callers may remain anonymous.

I was a insensitive jerk in my comment a few days ago.

I was focused on the wrong thing the criminal that did this.

But now that we have the victim names.
I would like to express condolences to the Mims and Lane families.

It seems RCSO has a lead, since they are "looking for a gold or tan Pontiac G6 rental car".

So, unless the person went OCONUS a database search of Rental car GPS tracking recorders should yield results.
